What is the Working Time Directive and what does it mean to me?
The WTD applies to the following -
minimum periods of daily rest - minimum daily
rest period of 11 consecutive hours per 24-hour period....
weekly rest - average working time for each
seven-day period, including overtime, does not exceed 48 hours....
annual leave - paid annual leave of at least four
weeks....
breaks and maximum weekly working time -
certain aspects of night work, shift work and
patterns of work -an average of eight hours in any 24-hour period
